The Albinism Society of Botswana will celebrate International Albinism Awareness Day recognised by the United Nations tomorrow at Mochudi's main kgotla.

“This significant event will bring to light the multifaceted discrimination experienced by people with albinism socially and medically in Botswana.  In collaboration with our partner organisations we aim to use this day to empower people with albinism within our own country and show the public that people with albinism must be respected and treated as equals,” the society’s chairperson, Sergeant Kgosietsile explained.

Kgosietsile said the purpose of this awareness day is to sensitise the public on the aforementioned event.
