FRANCISTOWN: Former Botswana National Front (BNF) legislator Michael Mzwinila briefly appeared in court on Wednesday for status report in a case in which he is alleged to have defrauded Tshepiso Polai.

The state alleges that the former maverick Member of Parliament (MP) for Gaborone North obtained P14,500 from Polai in January 2015 as payment for his plot No. 2850 in Tonota West whereas in truth and fact he (Mzwinila) does not own the said plot.

Mzwinila’s attorney Oratile Koonne told Magistrate Amantle Lungisani that the matter was brought before court to consider whether the record of proceedings in the case was ready for the matter to proceed to Case Management Conference (CMC).
