The Member of Parliament for Kgatleng East, Isaac Mabiletsa has accused President Ian Khama of abdicating his real presidential duties in favour of his other interests such as serving soup and philanthropy.

Mabiletsa said it is a pity that they have differences on the budget but Khama fails to attend Parliament to respond on their queries.

The Kgatleng East legislature said that he had an opportunity to work with former presidents, Ketumile Masire and Festus Mogae and that they consulted the National Assembly on challenges facing the country. However, he said that Khama is different because he never attends the National Assembly ‘as if he is not a Member of Parliament’.  At this juncture the speaker of the National Assembly, Dr Margaret Nasha called Mabiletsa to order and told him to debate the budget and stop talking about Khama’s State of the Nation Address.
