Police XI dropped into the relegation zone following their 5-4 loss to Black Forest in an entertaining nine-goal BTC Premiership thriller played at Otse Stadium on Saturday afternoon. They have dropped to position 14 while Black Forest’s victory took them to position nine.

The home side was led by newly-appointed assistant coach, Maitumelo Lotlaamoreng in the absence of head coach, Isaiah Mogwadi as the team sought to end their five-game winless run. However, it was the visitors who dominated proceedings from the first whistle and were rewarded in the seventh minute when Kennedy Taukobong rose highest to head home Gofaone Mabaya’s corner kick.

The home side levelled matters in the 18th minute as Eliphas Nyambi beat the goalkeeper from close range. Three minutes later, Nyambi broke with pace on the right wing and set up Hendrick Moyo. The latter beat the goalkeeper but had his shot blocked by Goabaone Mogorosi on the goal line. With nine minutes to the break, Taukobong turned provider as he flicked a corner kick for Thabo Ngada. The defender slotted into the back of the net to give Forest a 2-1 lead going into the half time break.
