The BTC Premiership title race took another turn this past weekend when defending champions, Township Rollers displaced Jwaneng Galaxy at the top of the log standings.
Galaxy lost 2-0 at home to Miscellaneous while Rollers registered an important 2-1 away victory over Sankoyo Bush Bucks. The two sides have been jostling for the top spot as the race for the title heats up.
Rollers have occupied the position until the midweek when they lost 2-0 to Orapa United. Galaxy profited by beating TAFIC 3-0 and moved to the top with a superior goal difference.
However their stay at the top was short-lived as veteran Zimbabwean striker, Master Masitara and Moyenga Chakova’s strikes stunned Galaxy at their home ground.
In Maun, Edwin Moalosi scored a brace to hand Rollers maximum points. Moalosi, who is a serious contender for the player of the season award scored one goal in each half before Sankoyo pulled one back. Rollers have now collected 52 points with seven games remaining.
Galaxy on the other hand have 49 points from 23 games. Miscellaneous remained in position three with 44 points after their win over Galaxy.

Orapa maintained their good run when they hammered Extension Gunners 3-0 at Itekeng Stadium on Saturday. Omaatla Kebatho scored two goals with the other goal coming from speedy winger, Lemogang Maswena to bury visiting Gunners.
The Lobatse giants have for the past week been embroiled in disputes over unpaid salaries with players reportedly threatening to down tools. The loss denied them an opportunity to move into position six currently occupied by BDF XI.
Matebele were stunned by Uniao Flamengo Santos who are currently battling for their survival in the league. BDF XI have so far collected 34 points while Gunners, in position seven, have 32 points.
Security Systems increased their survival chances when they beat TAFIC in Lobatse on Saturday. Both sides are battling for position 13 which is currently occupied by TAFIC.
With two games in hand, Security Systems are just a point below the Francistown based side.
