Taxi driver allegedly targets, defiles boarding students

A 49-year-old Letlhakane taxi driver was on Tuesday apprehended for allegedly defiling two female boarding students both 15-years-old of Motsumi Junior Secondary School.

According to police investigations, the perpetrator has allegedly been abusing the young girls since last November until last weekend when one of the girls spilled the beans.

In November, the taxi man allegedly proposed to the young girls and took them out for hard drinks after which he allegedly engaged in sex with them in their drunken stupor.

The sordid relationship continued, and in many different occasions, he would lure the young girls with hard drinks and a night out. At the bars, he kept the girls in the car and fed them alcohol.

Last weekend, he did as usual and after a night of drinking

one of the girls brought the drinks to the school hostels. Her hostel mates reported the matter to the teachers.

Upon being questioned by the teachers, the young girl made the revelations of how they would jump the fence and join their ‘blesser’ for nights of drinks and sex.

The teachers reported the matter to the Letlhakane police. Letlhakane police station commander, superintendent Michael Maphephu confirmed the incident and said investigations on the matter are ongoing.

“We got the report on Monday and we arrested the suspect on Tuesday, he will be appearing before the magistrate court soon to answer to the charges.”
