As Umbrella for Democracy to Change (UDC) congress nears, disagreements are gettiing more audible. After the acrimonious split of the Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD), the elephant in the room is both constituency and ward allocations. It is for this reason that there are some within the coalition who are willing to bite the bullet and lobby for fundamental change of approach to ensure a lasting solution to the current conflict ridden arrangement.

They will be calling for the UDC to take a bold step and deliver a truly united opposition in the form of a merger of all opposition parties or at the least consider an open contest to allow UDC members unlimited choice of candidates.
