The highly anticipated Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting that lasted several hours today at Oasis Motel in Tlokweng has failed to reach a consensus on the nature of the upcoming congress.

Highly placed sources close to the development told Mmegi that the meeting, which was scheduled to end with a Press Conference at 4pm, could not end on time as the Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) wants the upcoming congress to be ‘consultative’ while the other parties want it to be ‘decisive’.

"It was a burning issue,” said the source.
