PALAPYE: President Ian Khama said capital punishment remains the solution to curbing the growing number of murder incidents that have overwhelmed the country of recent.

Speaking during his farewell to the community of Palapye at the village main Kgotla on Friday morning, the outgoing President said he would support the country’s stance on capital punishment beyond his tenure.

He said murderers would only stop killing people when they know they are destined to the hangman’s noose. He said without capital punishment innocent people would die like flies just like in some states of the world that shun the law.
