Former Premier League giants, Notwane appear destined to make a return to top-flight football.
Just after they appeared to lose grip with a loss to Black Peril three weeks ago, Notwane have since registered two important victories and have reclaimed a top spot.
This past Saturday Notwane were in mean mood and ran riot over Modipane United with goals from Tlhalefo Molebatsi, Ishmael Amponsah and a brace from Thabiso Boti.
The victory comes just a week after they thrashed Mogoditshane Fighters 2-0. With both Fighters and Prisons XI having dropped points this past weekend, Notwane have since climbed the ladder and returned to the top spot, which they lost towards the end of last year.
Fighters went into the weekend matches sitting at the top lost 1-0 to Matebejane in the Mogoditshane derby.
The loss has since taken them down two places with Prisons XI retaining a second spot despite being held to a 1-1 draw by Broadhurst United. Notwane have so far collected 30 points
The neck-to-neck battle for automatic promotion to the Premier League appears destined to continue with interesting matches lined up for the top three.
Notwane take on Tsabong-based Black Rangers in the next fixture before they face Matebejane who have just shocked Fighters. Prisons XI will this coming weekend battle Black Peril who three weeks ago gave Notwane a lashing.
The Warders will then face Fighters the following weekend.
Before taking on Prisons XI, Fighters will face Red Sparks. Black Peril wasted an opportunity to catch up with the top three when they lost 3-1 to Red Sparks on Saturday but retain the fourth position with 25 points.
Broadhurst United also kept their fifth position after their draw against Prisons XI.
