'Police deserve adequate housing, resources' - Masisi

Vice President, Mokgweetsi Masisi applauded the Police for continuing to evolve to meet emerging challenges in law enforcement making it important for them to be adequately housed and resourced.

Officiating at the handover ceremony of the Block 10 police flats this morning, Masisi said the government is committed to providing a conducive working environment for the police through improved working conditions and general welfare. 

He said the 84 units constructed at a total cost of P66,000,000 is a clear example that government takes the welfare of police as one of its top priorities.  He said the Botswana Police Service’s (BPS) development budget has seen an increase from P149,000,000 in 2015-2016 financial year to P312,975,000 in the  2017-2018 cycle.
