Serowe gang leader beaten to death

A 32-year-old man known to be a gang leader that has been terrorising people in Serowe was on Sunday night seriously beaten by a group of boys and he succumbed to the wounds at Sekgoma Memorial Hospital this morning.

Serowe Police station commander superintendent Molefhe Molefhe said there are two groups of unruly young men that are causing havoc in the Bamangwato capital. He said the other group has adopted the West African Jihadist militant organisation moniker, Boko Haram.

This murder, which happened at Metsimasweu ward, is the second in Serowe since the beginning of the year. It is alleged that a group of rival gang members were seen chasing the deceased from a bar in Metsimasweu towards the Metsimasweu Bridge. Later the deceased was found wounded and lying helplessly near the said bridge.
