BMD has no autonomy over own constituencies - Boko

The Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) president, Duma Boko has said it is not automatic that the Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) will field only its members in their 14 allocated constituencies.

"The constituencies belong to the UDC and allocated to the parties to manage and choose best candidates. Even after each party elects their preferred candidate, we will scrutinise the candidates and replace those we deem not fit enough by those we think can win it for us from any party under the UDC," he said at a Botswana National Front (BNF) press conference this morning. 

Boko said there are already some constituencies where some parties have identified strong candidates from partner parties they would like to see represent them.
