Local Poets Start The Year On A High Note

Poetry lovers converged at the Gaborone club on Friday evening for a treat of spoken word poetry. It was the first session of the Poetry Open Mic Sessions since the beginning of 2018, but it showcased powerful and inspirational poems that left the audience with mixed emotions on Friday night.

The event dubbed ‘Poetry Open Mic Sessions’ attracted an impressive crowd, which seemed to enjoy performances. The session kicked-off with a performance from poetess Iry, dishing out a brief but captivating performance of dance.

Poets who appeared on stage with their different unique pieces provoked emotions and kept revellers asking for more. Gomolemo Motsamai, who dished out a few poems, followed Iry.
