Old man sprays Thamaga police with faeces

Police business at Thamaga Police station came to a standstill last Friday after a 59-year-old man of Sawu ward in the village stormed the station and threw human faeces to police officers.

Mmegi has learnt that the man’s actions forced the station boss to engage a private cleaning company to clean the office something that disrupted the station’s proceedings for few hours.

Botswana Police Service Public Relations Officer, Dipheko Motube confirmed the incident that occurred around lunchtime on Friday. He said the man had previously been brought in to the station for questioning in relation to a break-in offence.

“We do not know

what might have infuriated the man but he just stormed the officer and poured out human faeces to police officers leaving the office stinky and in the process assaulted a police officer,” Motube said.

Motube stated that the man has been charged with two counts of common nuisance and assaulting a police officer and will soon appear before Court.

Motube dismissed suspicions that the suspect could be mentally disturbed.
