Urban dance ensemble, TNT, is celebrating 10 years in the dance industry with a production dubbed, We never stop on Saturday at the Maitisong Theatre.
The group led by Chris Mangiroza was formed a decade ago in Gaborone and has since groomed a number of young performers.
“This is a way of us celebrating our 10th anniversary in the dance industry despite not being given much recognition in the country. We named the production, ‘We never stop’ because we are still here together as a family and we are growing strong,” said Mangiroza.
Since the production is more of a celebration, Mangiroza stated that TNT will perform as an ensemble and also the dancers will stage solo acts expressing the different dance genres they are capable of performing.
“We just want to show what we have learnt and done over these past 10 years. We have grown, learnt and still learning”.
With 10 years in the dance
Just like most dance groups TNT started off small and also took part on reality TV show My African Dream and won. They have performed in different countries such as South Africa, Zimbabwe and Zambia.
“We are working on having a dance academy but this is still work in the pipeline. I can’t say much about it at the moment.”
Urban dance ensembles such as Urban Empire, Stereotypes and Hybrids will open up the night for TNT’s 10th anniversary.
