State-of-the-art shopping mall on disputed land at Kgale

A multi-million pula state-of-the-art shopping and residential estate is opening up at the foot of Kgale Hill, a few kilometres from the site of an acrimonious war of words between Balete and their Land Board.

The Kgale Hill project, known as Kgale Lake City, is being driven by a partnership involving Arcswana Architects and the Roman Catholic Church, which owns the land around the landmark hill.

A special purpose vehicle, K-Hill Proprietary Limited, has been set up to drive the project, with groundbreaking due next February. Investors are reportedly already lining up to take up ground in the project.
