Police arrest woman for dumped foetus

LOBATSE: Police here have arrested a 25-year-old woman in connection with an incident in which a foetus was found dead in a pit latrine at Woodhall a fortnight ago.

The six-months-old male foetus was later certified dead at Athlone Hospital where its corpse remains in the hospital mortuary after a post-mortem was done on Monday morning. Woodhall police station’s detective assistant Superintendent, Barulaganyi Matshaba said the woman was arrested last week and forensic evidence is yet to be received by police.

“We have arrested a 25-year-old woman in connection with a case in which a lifeless foetus was found in a pit latrine in Woodhall ward last week. The woman was questioned and released and she will be definitely charged according to the law and tried before court.
