BOMU awards promise improved showcasing

The production of the upcoming Botswana Music Union (BOMU) awards on October 28 has been tipped to be a better and up to standard production as compared to the previous year.

Last year the event was marred with a lot of criticism due to the poor production and coordination, which the event organisers blamed on the production company they had hired. “While conceptualising this event we want to engage with a production company that will deliver high quality and up to standard production that will have the awards create a mark and be on an international standard,” BOMU disciplinary committee chair and head of procurement, Nkgopolang Tlhomelang said during a press brief.

He urged production companies to place bids for the award ceremony gig, but tipped them that they should have quality equipment and have relevant work experience to meet such calibre of standards. “We need a professional company.  Last year we were the first people to notice that the production is not up to par before everyone else did,” Tlhomelang said.
