Softball secretary general suspended

The Botswana Softball Association (BSA) secretary general, Gloria Gaosikelwe has been suspended for, amongst others, “failing to execute her duties”, including failing to pay affiliation to the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC).

BSA president, Tirelo Mukokomani served Gaosikelwe with the suspension letter last week. In the letter, Mukokomani accused Gaosikelwe of failing to carry out her responsibilities as secretary general.

“On numerous occasions, I have issued instructions to you to carry out your responsibilities as secretary general, which you failed or refused to do,” Mukokomani said. He said he had requested Gaosikelwe to ensure that the BSA affiliation fee to the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) is paid, but she failed to do so. He said as it stands, BSA is not a member of WBSC in good standing due to Gaosikelwe’s failure.  BSA eventually managed to pay the fees.
