The Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) National Youth Executive Committee (NYEC) chairperson, Simon Mavhange says his committee will write to the party’s central committee seeking advise on whether to fill the vacant positions or not.

NYEC has nine vacant posts after the BDP president last week suspended nine members from the youth committee.

The members are suspended for 60 days pending hearing. The suspended include NYEC secretary Thabo Autlwetse, treasurer Bruce Nkgakile, Information officer Kabo Ketshogile, deputy secretary Onneile Segwai and other youth members Sekano Bodio, Thatayaone Serema, Kitso Masebedi and Patience Kaelo. The nine suspended members are facing changes of behaving in a grossly disorderly and unruly manner that might put the name of the party into disrepute, sowing seeds of discord in the party using regionalism, tribalism or factionalism and contemptuous behaviour towards party leadership and other members.
