Four first half goals were enough to see Toronto register their third victory from three games while Letlapeng had no reply.

The match that was played at Otse Police College was used as the official launch of the league although the season started three weeks ago.

Defender, Maatla Segokgo grabbed a brace with two powerful headers from two dead balls while two other goals came from Thato Mogorosi and Moshe Tlhaolang. Before the game, Notwane had won their first two games while Letlapeng had won one and drew the other. The first goal came as early as the 11th minute through former national Under-20 holding midfielder, Mogorosi. Tlhaolang delivered a cross which Letlapeng defence failed to clear. The ball found Notwane attacker, Tsogang Israel at the far corner who headed it back into the danger zone. Mogorosi capitalised on Letlapeng’s defensive lapse with an easy tap in. Letlapeng had moments earlier missed a glorious opportunity when Duncan Bolotsang found himself with only the goalkeeper to beat and tried to chip over the advancing Notwane goalkeeper, Michael Pepukani but his effort went narrowly wide.

Letlapeng committed a foul next to centre line in the 17th minute. A good ball was delivered into the box and defender, Segokgo rose high and headed home to give Notwane a 2-0 lead.

Four minutes later, Letlapeng conceded a corner kick. Mpoeleng Mpoeleng delivered beautifully into the box and Segokgo once again proved his aerial power and headed past Letlapeng goalkeeper, Theo Moreti. The latter made a terrible mistake minutes later when he tried to clear the ball only to hit Notwane striker, Tlhaolang with it. The ball bounced off his feet and went straight into the net to take the game

beyond Letlapeng’s reach.

In the second half, Notwane decided to keep possession and protect their healthy lead while Letlapeng tried to pull one back early in the second half.

Letlapeng made several substitutions, but it was Notwane who had another clear chance in the middle of the second half. Tlhalefo Molebatsi dribbled past Thabiso Mokae of Letlapeng and found himself with only the goalkeeper to beat but wasted the chance when he shot wide. Letlapeng on the other hand tried to make build ups from the back but lost the plot when they reached Notwane’s area. Notwane’s victory means they have now scored seven goals in three games and are yet to concede a goal.

Speaking to Sport Monitor after the game, Notwane’s assistant coach, Kakale Mabechu said he was happy that they managed to keep another clean sheet but was a bit worried that they still miss chances. Letlapeng coach, Oarabile Seabo said his charges might have choked under pressure. “I think the stage became too big for them, but we will go back and try and prepare for the next game,” he said.
