The Botswana Public Employees Union (BOPEU) president, Masego Mogwera has confirmed they have fired the Babereki Investments executive chairperson, Andrew Motsamai.

Motsamai’s contract was terminated on Monday after “serious” considerations by the BOPEU board before his 10 days suspension could come to an end, Mmegi has learnt. “Motsamai got his letter on Monday. I cannot share many details because the issue is between the employer and the employee. It is true BOPEU will conduct a forensic audit which we do every year.

The audit is the one which could give us a clear picture of what is happening at BOPEU. I do not want to accuse anyone when an audit has not been done,” Mogwera said.
