The purpose of the interaction session was to give the contestants an opportunity to impart inspirational messages, offer moral support and appreciate the spirit of humanity.

The founder of the pageant, Letsweletse Motshidiemang highlighted that the main focus of the pageant is to motivate and uplift women and going beyond to reach women in prisons. “Women in prisons are mothers, sisters and wives. They also need love and empowerment from other women. That’s why one of our main objectives is to reach out to them,” he said.

Motshidiemang added that they also visited the Mahalapye women’s prison accompanied by Alpha Outreach to donate toiletry. “We have dedicated ourselves to these women because we are trying to bring change in their lives in general and to show them that they are not forgotten,” he said. He stated that the contestants’ first experience in prison was brilliant because they bonded well together and held

cheerful conversations with each other.

Thembisani Mothobi, a former prisoner, advised them to hold strongly unto their faith in God and let Him take control of everything. “I was once in your situation and I understand fully what you go through. All I can say is have ultimate faith in God. He is in control,” she said.

A local company, ANTICLO Investments also extended a helping hand by donating toiletry. According to its managing director, Thelma Eyman, she was intrigued by the nature of women and she said a woman was specially created for trillion reasons.

She added that a woman is of significant value hence needs to be taken care of no matter the circumstances. “A woman’s body is very fragile and must be taken care of. I made that donation for our nature calls for women to have the necessary items to take care of themselves,” she said.
