In his first game, Bright lost 2-0 to South Africa in the first round of the Africa Nations Championships before the reverse fixture ended 1-0 in favour of Bafana Bafana.

The next match was against Tanzania on Saturday and Simon Msuva’s brace denied Bright his first win.

Bright told Mmegi Sport yesterday that he has, in actual fact, been in charge for only one game, the Saturday friendly match against Tanzania.

“The first two games I was familiarising myself. I have been in charge of only one game (against Tanzania).

“We are on the right direction, it’s a new team. If you teach your child how to walk, there are instances where they will fall, but it’s ok,” Bright said.

the type of football the nation should expect from his side, Bright said there would be balance in both attack and defence.

“I am not going to say we will concentrate on only one component. We have to balance both components, which is attack and defence,” Bright said. The match in Tanzania saw Bright revert to a 4-5-1 formation, with Jerome Ramatlhakwana deployed as a lone striker.

The midfield was congested with defensive and ball players. However, Bright’s boys were constantly ripped opened resulting in the two goals either side of the half. The Zebras are preparing for their next assignment in the Africa Cup of Nations against Angola, which however, does not come until March 2018.
