Ndaba Urges Parliament To Have Draft Office

Member of Parliament (MP) for Gaborone Bonnington South, Ndaba Gaolathe has called on Parliament to have a law drafting office.

Addressing his constituents at Marulamantsi ward, Gaolathe said Botswana’s Constitution has been uniquely and continually designed. He said Parliament has been functioning without a parliamentary budget office.

“There is need to establish an office to assist draft private members’ Bills. The lack thereof has hindered private MPs from coming up with private members’ Bills. It is costly to come up with laws, but our Parliamentary system has flaws. A private members’ Bill could cost up to P100,000.” he said.
