Ragontse, who returned to his Baltimore base yesterday, was in the country on a week-long visit and savoured the opportunity of working with enthusiastic junior players in the country.

The dreadlocked star had sought to invest into junior squash players in Gaborone. But his performance in the exhibition capped a memorable visit with a preceding exhibition encounter against his US-based colleague Lekgotla Mosope also living to the billing. Mosope won the entertaining match 14-12.

"The most important thing is that the junior kids were there - that was the exciting part of being here (in Botswana). It was a delight to see the children - I worked with an enthusiastic group of kids," Ragontse told Monitor Sport.

"That's really fun - it was wonderful," he added. Mosope, who has been out of the game for a year due to injury, said the exhibition tournament was necessary to inspire youngsters. "It's good because we have

a lot of juniors.

The juniors have to see us play. If the kids don't see us they don't learn from anybody - we have to inspire them," said Mosope.

Mosope becomes the third player to confirm his availability ahead of next year's World Squash Championships. The Botswana Squash Racket Association (BSRA) is eager to send a team to the Championships which take place in the City of Manchester, home to England Squash and Racketball (ESR)

"I've got to represent my country. I'm looking forward to it because we have never played in the World Championships. I'm so much interested if it's going to happen," he said. He believes Botswana has what it takes to vie for honours at that level of the game. Mosope, who coaches juniors in the US, urged youngsters to take sport seriously.

He added: "Let's get into sport - that's the lifestyle these days. It's a very nice lifestyle."
