Flying women encourage aviation enthusiasts

Women in Aviation Botswana (WAIB) will be hosting Botswana’s first Girls in Aviation Day at Maun International Airport on September 23, 2017. WAIB will be hosting this exciting event along with a 100 other chapters all over the world.

The event is set to start at 9am and end at 3pm. At least 50 girls from Maun and surrounding areas, ages  8-18 are expected to attend the event.

The event will fall under the theme , “empowering and mentoring women and girls in the different aviation sectors.” This is line with Botswana’s new vision 2036 pillar by contributing towards promotion and mentorship of the girl-child in the science, technology and innovation.
