JWANENG: Golfers from around the country converged here for the annual Cresta and Pick n Pay golf tournament where P24,500 was raised for a destitute family. The money is meant to buy furniture for the family.

The tournament, in its third edition, is the brainchild of Pick n Pay and Cresta Jwaneng. Cresta Jwaneng general manager, Godfrey Dzingayi described this year’s tournament as a success as it saw 38 companies responding to the call of charity to be part of the event.

“The support from Jwaneng companies and from around the country has been overwhelming and we are hoping for the best next year. We are pleading with companies to come forth to support charity,” Dzingayi said. Pick n Pay managing director, Sethata Seremane said they approached Cresta to partner with them to organise a charity event in order to support the less privileged.  He said they also talked to suppliers to come on board and the event was a success. Seremane added that the business environment is not easy and they were happy to see companies coming forward to support charity even during the difficult economic times. He said they are looking forward to improving the tournament next year. The charity golf day has been an eye-opener and all the proceeds will go to charity.  “The past three years have been successful and we hope to continue hosting it annually,” he said.

Each of the 10 beautiful young women had supporters...
