Man perishes in car crash

PALAPYE: Police are investigating a case in which a 33-year-old man died after the Camry he was driving collided with a Hino Truck on Saturday evening along the Palapye-Serowe road.

Confirming the accident, Palapye police traffic officer, inspector Ntshosane Rammapodi said the accident was reported to them in the late hours of Saturday near the Sediba sa Poo (Artificial Insemination Unit).   He disclosed that the Camry was heading to Palapye while the truck was heading to Serowe.  “According to police investigations, the Camry driver who was alone in the car was heading to Palapye where he originates and the truck driver was also alone. 

Unfortunately, the 33-year-old Camry driver lost his life on the spot while the truck driver sustained serious injuries,” he said.  Rammapodi further said the truck driver was immediately rushed to Palapye Primary Hospital where he was later transferred to Mahalapye Hospital due to some fractures he sustained.
