FRANCISTOWN: The Super Power Cup which involves TAFIC, Mochudi Centre Chiefs and two Zimbabwean sides, Highlanders and Dynamos will proceed on August 19, despite the date set aside for the opening of the BTC Premiership fixtures.

TAFIC are scheduled to play Township Rollers at the National Stadium and Chiefs face Jwaneng Galaxy in Molepolole on the same date as the Super Power Cup. Despite the clash, Cup organiser, Joy Setshedi confirmed their date still stands. She said she has met with the Premiership leadership and the uncertainty has been cleared.

“According to the Premier League, the fixtures that are out are just a draft, the final fixtures will be decided by the BFA assembly and the Premier League has instructed us that clubs taking part in our cup inform them in writing, just in case but we remain confident the cup will go ahead.”
