Traditional song and dance competitions mesmerises audience

Multitudes thronged the Sir Seretse Khama Barracks on July 16 for the 10th President’s Day Traditional song, dance and dikhwaere competitions.

The theme for this year’s President Day Celebrations was ‘Creative Industries: A Vehicle for Sustainable Development’, something that Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Culture Development deputy permanent secretary, Mogomotsi Kaboeamodimo highlighted in his remarks.

There were ten categories of traditional song and dance, with each category comprising of four groups. The groups were from different parts of the country and they were showcasing their different cultures. All the groups performed exceptionally well and presented their performances with great energy, passion and creativity.
