Another earthquake hits Central District

Another earthquake has hit the Central district, just three months after a 6.7 magnitude earthquake hit north of Moiyabana.

A statement issued by the government says yesterday’s earthquake hit a remote area 137 kilometres south of Letlhakane.

“The US Geological Survey International earthquake tracking centre has confirmed readings of 4.9 magnitude earthquake that occurred at 11:37am today some 137 km SSW of Letlhakane, in the Central District, Botswana 2017-07-04 1:37:05 (CAT) local time,” says the brief statement issued yesterday.
