Vice President Mokgweetsi Masisi’s official car was involved in a minor car accident over the weekend. Masisi and his driver were heading to Gaborone when the accident occurred.

Mogoditshane police station commander, superintendent Agreement Mapeu confirmed that Masisi escaped uninjured early Sunday morning. His official Prado was involved in a car accident when a Corolla hit it from the back. Mapeu said the accident occurred at 12 mid-night between Kopong and Metsimotlhabe.

Over the weekend the Moshupa/Manyana constituency held its congress in which members were electing delegates for the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) national congress in Tonota next month. It is believed Masisi might have been from that event when he met the accident. Mapeu stated that the 34-year-old man of Letlhakeng village knocked Masisi’s car from the back leaving a dent on the VP’s car bumper stating that both cars have minor damages.
