Soldier in hot soup for providing false info

LOBATSE: A 28-year-old Botswana Defence Force (BDF) soldier, Keleagetswe Mogomotsi, based at the Sir Seretse Khama Barracks (SSKB) yesterday pleaded guilty to charges of providing false information to an officer employed in a government office.

Mogomotsi was arrested for using a relative’s passport to exit and enter Botswana.

The state alleges that on May 4, 2017, the accused person presented a relative’s passport in the names of one Gotlaitse Mogomotsi at Ramatlabama border post in a bid to enter the country from South Africa whilst he knew it did not belong to him.
