FRANCISTOWN: The new broom at ECCO City Greens that was ushered-in over the weekend at the club’s annual general meeting (AGM) is considering a complete re-branding of the club.

As one of the three resolutions taken at the AGM, the new committee has employed a task force of three to engage the supporters in a move aimed at changing the club’s name, logo, colours and slogan ahead of the new season.

The club secretary, Gift Keaitse said the task force will report back to the executive committee before the end of July. He said the name ECCO still links the club with their former parent sponsor, Botswana Meat Commission (BMC), and the link has negatively affected the club’s efforts to source sponsorship. BMC stopped sponsoring ECCO in 2013.
