BDF Cheetahs look destined to retain the Rugby league title

BDF Cheetahs have sent a strong message of their intentions to retain the Botswana Rugby Union (BRU) Super rugby title.

The side stamped its authority when they crashed UB Rhinos 34-9 on Friday night in front of their supporters at UB Stadium. Cheetahs lead the log with 21 points, with three bonus points. The army side has played five matches, winning four and a draw. Cheetahs have scored 108 points to wrap up the first round on top. Rhinos finished second with 12 points while Gaborone Hogs is in the third spot with nine points. It has been a poor first round for Canon Jagaurs who have not picked a win from their four assignments. Hogs added to their misery beating them 23-14 over the weekend.

Cheetahs coach, Shine Gabatladiwe told Mmegi Sport that his team was ruled out when they drew against Hogs. He said most people thought that was the end of Cheetahs. He said during that match, his players did not stick to the game plan. He said they took the draw as a lesson.
