The Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development has slashed the Botswana National Olympic Committee’s (BNOC) grant by P500,000.

During the 2016/17 financial year, BNOC received P6.5 million and in 2017/18 the Committee got the same amount, but this time, P500, 000 will go towards anti-doping activities.

BNOC chief executive officer, Tuelo Serufho speaking on behalf of BNOC president, Negroes Kgosietsile at the local Olympic body’s ordinary general meeting on Saturday, said they are only aware of the figure for operations costs. He said for the last two financial years, they did not receive funding towards anti-doping.
