BMD asks UDC to de-recognise Gaolathe & Co

The Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) has written to their Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) partners informing them about the suspension of the party’s president, Ndaba Gaolathe and six others.

Besides Gaolathe, other suspended members are former BMD youth president Phenyo Segokgo, vice president Wynter Mmolotsi, national organising secretary Kabelo Mahupe, Pako Keokilwe, chairperson of the council of elders and Harriet Rampa, secretary of council of elders.

According to the letter seen by Mmegi, BMD chairperson, Nehemiah Modubule told the UDC that the seven had been suspended for 90 days.  “It saddens us that our movement has been placed in the inescapable position of having, which it has done, to suspend the following of its members for 90 days pending the taking and completion of disciplinary action against them.
