With less local artists focusing on electronic music, siblings Mmolotsi and Letso Mabua have established music careers as electronic music artists and have worked on a number of singles.

As electronic music artists they focus on producing beats and remixing tracks which are already available online. The name 9096 was inspired by the years that they were born in respectively which are 1990 and 1996. Mmolotsi is the older one while Letso is the youngest.
