Just a few weeks after members of the troubled Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) National Youth Executive Committee (NYEC) announced they had buried their hatchets, evidence of more infighting has emerged.

The Simon Moabi-led NYEC has not seen peace since members from different lobby lists were elected mid-February. However a meeting, in Moabi’s absence, was subsequently called where the youths announced they had resolved their differences in the interests of the BDP.

Information reaching Mmegi indicates fresh scuffles have erupted. NYEC treasurer, Bruce Nkgakile has written a letter of demand to NYEC additional member, Collen Mochotlhi demanding P250,000 for alleged defamation.
