Although details of the incident are still sketchy, it is reported that Mogomotsi’s kidnappers held him for 12 hours, from 3pm to 3am. Mochudi police station commander, Simon Sitale confirmed that they were investigating the incident, and that two suspects were on Tuesday afternoon arrested at Moralane lands in connection to the matter.

“I can confirm that an Apostolic Faith Mission pastor was kidnapped and robbed of his car on Monday. Initial investigations have revealed that his kidnappers kept him from 3pm to 3am. He was found with serious injuries on the head,” Sitale said.

He said that doctors at Deborah Retief Hospital attended the pastor before he was referred to PMH as he had severe injuries on the head.  While confirming the arrests, the station commander could not be drawn into discussing what was stolen except for the car and what has been recovered thus far.

“This is a fresh matter. We are still running around trying to find out what happened. It will

be premature to reveal much details unless you call us after three or four days,” he said.  A church elder, David Morwaagole who confirmed the incident to Mmegi, said that they were not in a position to discuss the matter with the media, as it is a subject of police investigations.  “This is a highly sensitive case as it is still under investigations.

We would appreciate to let the police complete their investigations, then we will arrange with the national leadership to release the media statement,” Morwaagole said.

The tragedy is visiting the family in just under four months.  In December 2016, robbers attacked his wife at their home in Mochudi. She never recovered from the comma and died a few days still in the Intensive Care Unit.

During the week of the pastor’s wife wake, the AFM church in Mochudi was burgled by robbers who stole musical instruments worth over P7, 000. It is not clear whether the incidents are connected.
