MABUTSANE: Ditiro Burunyana Rantalajwe has stepped in to replace former nominated councillor, Mephato Reatile, who was promoted to the National Assembly as a Specially Elected member last year.

Rantalajwe, a staunch member of the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP), has already begun serving in the Southern District Council after his nomination by Local Government and Rural Development minister, Slumber Tsogwane. The veteran politician is due to be sworn in at the Southern District full council meeting billed for March 20.

In an interview, Rantalajwe confirmed that he received a letter of appointment on February 14 and immediately started his duties as a councillor.
