Air Botswana concludes job cuts exercise

At least 52 workers have lost their jobs so far

The national airline, Air Botswana is on the second phase of a retrenchment exercise that will see 51 more jobs being cut by the end of this month, the Minister of Transport and Communications, Kitso Mokaila said.

About 52 jobs were cut in the first phase that ended last December.

Addressing the media recently, the Minister said the airline has been having operational challenges due to losses incurred on the less profitable routes as well as running with an aging fleet.
