Woman hunts for P200 to avoid jail

KANYE: Botsang Kalayamosu of Moshana on Tuesday left court escorted by police to hunt for P200 in order to avoid a 14-day jail term for contempt of court.

The 32-year-old charged with threat-to-kill had been skipping court dates since last October, forcing magistrate, Bame Ngaka to slap her with a contempt of a court charge.

Though she missed three court appearances, Kalayamosu claimed she had simply mixed up the dates.  Ngaka, however, did not buy her excuse and ordered her to look for the P200 or face a 14-day jail term for contempt of court.
