This will be the first time the female rapper, who is signed under Cassper Nyovest’s Family Tree, headlines a show in Botswana. She has already started hyping up her upcoming performance on social media.

The event dubbed ‘A Night With Nadia Nakai’ seems to be an all-women affair, as female rappers, Nipsey Blunt and rookie Trippy Rhe, will support her.

“Nadia Nakai is the first lady of one of the best and most successful stables in South Africa, Family Tree Entertainment. She’s definitely not basking under Cassper’s glory, but is doing it big for herself. She’s an A-List artist. (I’ve) Seen her perform a couple of times over the festive (season) and saw someone that Batswana would enjoy watch(ing) her perform,” the event promoter- cum disc jockey, Kabo ‘Jam- N- I’ Magetse said.

Nadia Nakai, who is mainly a favourite of many young urbanites, has released a number of tracks such as Money Back and Saka Wena.  She has

collaborated with artists such as Cassper Nyovest, Ice Prince and Tumi.

However, Jam- N- I noted that the event is also a way of empowering women in the rap industry, “nothing against male rappers, but I saw it befitting for the ladies to do it on the night. Trippy Rhe and Nipsey Blunt recorded a song late last year that was produced by Suffocate. Since Nipsey is based in SA, they really never got a chance to push it. Couldn’t give them a better platform than this one to push it”.

By hosting this event Jam- N- I said this is her contribution to the local entertainment industry to revive the club scene and put it at par with the South African scene, which has led some Batswana to travel down south for clubbing.

“If we can travel to SA to go watch an artist perform in a club, why not bring them to our backyard”.
