FRANCISTOWN: TAFIC returned to the top of the Debswana First Division North (FDN) League table with a 3-0 win over cross town rivals Great North Tigers (GNT) on Sunday afternoon.

It took TAFIC a stifling one hour and 15 minutes to open the score sheet in a frantic derby that was crammed with crunchy tackles. GNT took the game to TAFIC but wasted numerous chances in front of goals. A brace from Kemoreng Batisani and a cheeky last minute free kick from Molebatsi Sekepe ensured Matjimenyenga punished their wasteful neighbours and leapfrogged BR Highlanders to finish the first round at the summit of the table.

In an interview after the encounter TAFIC mentor, Blessing Moyo acknowledged a poor display against a lacklustre GNT but was happy with the results.
