Paralympics Games kick off

The national Paralympics Games, which are being organised by the Paralympics Association of Botswana (PASSOBO), kick off tonight at the UB Stadium in Gaborone.

The Minister of Youth, Sport and Culture, Shaw Kgathi will officiate at the opening ceremony, which will be immediately followed by the athletics competitions. Ball games will start tomorrow.

The games have attracted 300 athletes from across the country who will be battling it out in football for the visually-impaired as well as for the deaf, netball, basketball and wheel-chair basketball.
