FRANCISTOWN: The Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) has reportedly decided not to take action against the party’s Francistown region secretary Raoboy Mpuang. On August 11, 2016 the BDP Francistown West branch wrote a letter to the party central committee to investigate and take appropriate action against the Mpuang over what it deemed gross indiscipline.

The demand came after Mpuang hit headlines when he allegedly bragged in a leaked tape about how his association with the Vice President and BDP chairperson, Mokgweetsi Masisi saved him from a disciplinary hearing.

Mpuang was then charged for de-campaigning the party at the Phillip Matante East by-election but was later cleared of wrongdoing.
