Francistown Celebrates own Stars

FRANCISTOWN: The first Member of Parliament (MP) for Francistown, Phillip Matante headlined a host of influential people who were presented with awards for helping to shape Francistown from a small shantytown in the initial days of Independence into a fully-fledged city.

In addition, organisations that helped build Francistown in the last 50-years received awards as well.

The Friday awards were part of the city’s BOT50 (marking Botswana’s 50-years of Independence) commemorations. A combined figure of close to 100 people and businesses lined up for the awards.
